Tenerife has a coastline of more than 400 k. and uncountable white as well as black sand beaches. Some are crowded and others well hidden and deserted. From the cliffs and the black sand beaches in Anaga in the east, to the pebblestone beaches in Teno in the west and the sand or campsite beaches in Los Abrigos, Las Galletas or La Caleta, the famous windsurf beach in El Medanao - the surf beach El Socorro or the beaches of Puerto de la Cruz, everybody will find his perfect spot.

 

Las Americas is situated in the southwest of the island and belongs to Arona and Adeje. The 4 beaches; Tierra Negra, El Bobo, Las Americas and Troya are all artificial but still the most famous on the island. They offer the following facilities: Parking, Lifeguards, beach chairs, showers, public phones, restaurants a.s.o. Las Americas is the perfect area to practice any kind of watersport.

 

In the southwest of the island we find this 100 m long and 7 m wide beach in the middle of an old fishing village. It has got white sand, mixed with picon and very calm water. Next to the beach you will find a restaurant that serves delicious, fresh seafood. The beach offers the following facilities: Showers, parking, restaurants and accommodation.

 

 

This 40 m long and 9 m wide cobblestone beach is located in the southwest of the island and has preserved its character. The water is very calm and ideal for swimming or snorkelling. The beach offers the following facilities: parking.

 

You will find this grey sand beach in the southwest of the island. With its length of 700 m it is one of the bigger beaches on the island and often frequented by tourists. The beach offers the following facilities: Parking, Lifeguards, beach chairs, showers, public phones, restaurants a.s.o.

 

 

This 1 k long white sand beach is situated in the southwest of the island in the heart of the tourist area just next to the port of Los Cristianos. It is one of the safest beaches and ideal for kids. The beach offers the following facilities: Parking, Lifeguards, beach chairs, showers, public phones, restaurants a.s.o.

 

Las Vistas is the neighbour beach of Los Cristianos and Las Americas and was artificially built. This lovely white sand beach is almost 1 k long and 120 m wide. The water is very calm. The beach offers the following facilities: Parking, Lifeguards, beach chairs, showers, public phones, restaurants a.s.o.

 

This 200 m long and 40 m wide sand beach is probably the best beach to swim in the whole coast of Arico. The main problem on this beach is mostly the strong wind, the water is very calm though and perfect for swimming.

 

Another famous 1 k long and 30 m wide natural shingle beach is located next to Candelaria, in the northeast of the island. Be aware of the rolling waves; they can be very powerful and can produce very strong currents. Never underestimate the power of water. Candelaria is a traditional fishing village and offer the following facilities: Parking, Lifeguards, beach chairs, showers, public phones, restaurants a.s.o.

 

In Buenavista del Norte, in the northeast of the island, we find this 400 m long and 15 m wide, hidden black sand beach with calm waters. It is situated at the end of Masca Valley, very isolated and accessible by boat or with a 4 K hike.

 

This 100 m long natural beach in the northeast of the island offers the following facilities: Parking, restaurants, showers a.s.o.

 

 

This 1 k long natural beach with its fine black sand is situated in the northern part of the island. The waves can get quite big and nsel. Hohe Wellen sind hier keine Seltenheit. The beach is only accessible by foot and often visited by nudists.

 

In the eastern part of the island we find this 80 m long picon beach right next to the

village of Los Roques, which consits of 4 houses and a chapel. You will find a lovely beach promenade with Seafood restaurants.

 

Right next to the Castillo San Miguel you will find this beach with its four natural pools situated in the lavafields. Due to its calm waters the beach is very popular and visited.

 

In the east of Montaña Roja, which is lying in the middle of a natural reserve, we find this 1 k long natural beach consisting of the following areas: El Cabezo, La Jaquita, La Pelada, Balos, Montaña Roja, La Tejita and El Medano. This beach is mainly for Windsurfers. It is usually quite windy and the waves are ideal ramps for radical jumps and manoeuvres. You will find a promenade with the following facilities: Parking, Lifeguards, beach chairs, showers, public phones, restaurants a.s.o.

 

 

In the western part of the island we find this 150 m long, grey sand, natural beach, which is ideal for swimming.

 

 

Just south of the Club Náutico in Güímar we find this 800 m long natural beach. In

the winter season this beach recieves consistent waves, which are broken by an

artificial reef to provide secure swimming.

 

In San Marcos we find this 200 m long black sand beach. It is ideal for fishing and is always supervised by lifeguards. You can also find some delicious seafood restaurants and accommodation.

 

 

This only 50 m long natural rock and picon beach is the only beach in La Guancha. Be aware of the waves!

 

 

This artificial white sand beach is situated in the middle of a residential area and well accessible. It is 220 m long and supervised by lifeguards.

 

 

This white sand natural beach is about 1 k long and very isolated. Be aware of the waves and currents! There are no lifeguards on the beach. This beach is very popular and often frequented by nudists.

 

This black picon and cobblestone beach is about 330 m long and 20 m wide. You will find a Hotel and some apartments with spectacular views just above the cliffs. This beach is, due to its wide variety of underwater species, very popular for divers.

 

 

This beach is very famous for surfing. Be aware of some crazy locals.

 

 

This 160 m long natural beach only has a sandy underground during the summer months. Be aware of the waves even though the beach is controlled by lifeguards.

 

 

Just north of Lago Martíanez, you find this 300 m long black sand beach. This is another beach whose waves can get a bit bigger and is therefore very popular and often visited by surfers. If the waves are too big for swimming, just go for a walk on the promenade and observe the surfers or go to one of the delicious sea food restaurants and enjoy a perfect meal.

 

 

Another picon and cobllestone beach which is only 100 m long and 10 m wide. If the waves are too big you have the possibility to go to the public swimming pool of Las Aguas.

 

 

This beach is a paradise for divers and is situated in the natural reserve of Montaña Amarilla and supervised by lifeguards.

 

This beach was rebuilt in 1973 to make it safer. In its natural form the beach used to be black but today it´s almost white. If it gets to hot just go and sit in the shade of one of the palmtrees planted along the promenade. Eventhough the wind gets very strong, this is one of the most popular beach on the island. The water is mostly calm and ideal for swimming. You will find the following facilities: Parking, Lifeguards, beach chairs, showers, public phones, restaurants a.s.o.

 

 

This 125 m long and 50 m wide black sand beach is just next to Santa Cruz right in the heart of the tourist centre. You will find the following facilities: Parking, Lifeguards, beach chairs, showers, public phones, restaurants a.s.o.

 

 

This beach is over 1 k long and is situated outside of Sauzal. It is only accessible by foot and is very popular by nudists. The sand is fine and black. La Grañosa is also very popular and visited by a lot of Paragliders
