Visitors arrive at the Canaries third largest island in their thousand. Some come for the incredibly healthy climate an invigorating mountain walks on trails such as those found in the area around Roque Nublo. Others delve into the history, mirroring the footsteps of Christopher Columbus in La Vegueta, the old quarter of Las Palmas.
But most seek little more than sacred trinity of sun, sand and sea. This can be interspersed with daytime strolls in pretty villages such as Puerto de Mogan, or a visit to one of many theme parks such as Aquasur in Maspalomas. At night, the scores of bars and clubs of the southern resorts offer lively entertainment.
