Loro Parque is based in the north of Tenerife, but still should not be missed.

Regardless of your age you will be fascinated by Loro Parque. Originally a Parrot Park, it has now grown into Tenerife's second biggest attraction after mount Teide.

The Loro Parque is home to the worlds most important Parrot collection with over 300 species, an amazing Sea-Lion show, Dolphin Show, Parrot Show, Aquarium with Shark tunnel, Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Tigers, Jaguars, Flamingos, Alligators, Tortoises, Orchid House, Gambian Market, a 'NaturaVision' Cinema and the worlds largest Penguinarium with a reproduction Antarctic climate within which 12 tons of snow falls a day.

Since opening in 1972, more than 19 million visitors have passed through its doors that are open all year round, and from an original 35.000m2, the park now occupies an impressive 135.000m2.

The founder and owner of Loro Parque, Mr. Wolfgang Kiessling is now an international figure with his unique collection of over 3.000 parrots which include 300 species and sub-species.

About 700 are in the park, and the rest are housed in the breeding station. In 1994 the whole collection was donated to Loro Parque Foundation whose aim is to preserve endangered species of parrots and their habitats, raise funds for field studies, research and conservation projects and to organise the breeding programmes aimed at reintroducing these rare parrots back into the wild.

The Foundation takes part in 18 captive breeding programmes and is directly involved in co-coordinating the Spix´s Macaw Recovery Project, the Blue-throated Macaw and the Red-browed Amazon.

Bob Diving

Come and join us in Puerto Colon the main harbour in the south of Tenerife for this 2 hour excursion.

The Breathing Observation Bubble, which was invented by a British car designer, might look like the diving bell of old, but cast aside any worries you might have about the apparatus being heavy, unwieldy or hard to operate.

After a few minutes instruction you need only dip briefly underwater to resurface with your head inside the bubble and seated comfortably on the scooter. Before you know it you are off on an adventure, looking at the fabulous underwater world through your own personal window.

One thing that makes BOB diving so special is that there is no breathing apparatus to consider or that obscures the face of the divers. The look of delight and surprise as a variety of marine life stop by to investigate the divers is always a highlight of the trip.

You don’t need any diving experience at all, though you should be in good health, at least 1.55 metres tall and under 74 years of age. The cost per person is only €42approx which includes the boat trip to and from your BOB diving spot.

Medieval Night

Let us take you back to the medieval times with the knights of the realm om horseback, jousting for the hand of the fair maiden. During the jousting, a three course dinner and unlimited red and white wine and orange juice will be served.

The night takes place in the authentic castle of San Miguel. You will cross the drawbridge to be met by the Earl and Countess and you will then take your seats in the indoor arena. The show begins with the medieval knights showing their prowess in contests of jousting and marksmanship. You can cheer on your own knight as you enjoy a meal of a whole chicken, hot potatoes and other delicacies all eaten in true medieval style, with your fingers! Plus, you can wash it all down with plenty of medieval mead. After the competitions have ended you will then come back to the present day, moving on to the bar where there is a further show, currently African night, where you can drink and dance the night away.
